Ignite Collaboration

Overview

Salter McNeil & Associates, LLC understands that the mission to the contemporary American university must be concerned about multi-ethnicity. Therefore, the Ignite Collaboration has been specifically designed to increase the intercultural competency of faculty, administrators, and staff in Christian higher education. This annual event convenes educators and professionals from various disciplines in higher education to provide a context for Christians to work in partnership with others who are wresting with racial and ethnic diversity issues on their college or university campus. The following services are provided at each collaboration:

Purpose & Goals

The purpose of this interdisciplinary, annual event is to:

  1. Provide an opportunity for racially and ethnically diverse faculty, administrators and staff to dialogue and learn from each other in a peer mentoring, collaborative format.
  2. Share resources and tools that are effective in helping faculty, staff and students to increase their intercultural competence on campus.
  3. Provide exposure to different models and strategies being implemented to advance racial and ethnic diversity on Christian college and university campuses.
  4. Provide training for Christian educators and professionals to increase their effectiveness as advocates of ethnic and racial reconciliation on campus.
  5. Build a network of Christian faculty, administrators and staff who are committed to promoting ethnic diversity and racial reconciliation in higher education.
