Learning Communities

Conversation cultivates community. Salter McNeil & Associates (SMA) believes that spiritual transformation accelerates when people learn together in community. Community is the kind of place in which learning conversations can happen safely and effectively.

Who is this for?

• Learning Communities are for anyone who wants to grow in racial reconciliation with like-minded people.

• Understanding that many people do not have others around them to help in the learning process, we want to offer a way for people at any point in their journey to learn together.

What can you expect?

• Learning Communities entail a 5-week study based on one of the various books written by Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil.

• This learning process is facilitated by two SMA Associates and is designed to educate and empower people, who want to grow in their understanding and ability to facilitate learning conversations with others.

How does this work?

• Learning Community modules are available:

  • Summer 2022 (Mid-June- July)

  • Fall 2022 (October-November)

  • Winter 2023 (January-February )

  • Spring 2023 (March-May)

• Groups consist of 5-10 people.

• Groups will choose one of the following books and work through it together:

  • ​A Credible Witness

  • Heart of Racial Justice 

  • Becoming Brave

• Discussion will center around the 4 “C”s:

  • Connection, Context, Commitment, Catapult. 

How much does it cost?

• Cost: $250.00 (not including the cost of the book)
